NCN Route 52 Kenilworth Greenway Scrub Clearance Workday - Friday 2nd January
Dear all,
We had a really successful workday on Friday with a dozen volunteers eager to work off a bit of Christmas excess. The weather was thankfully both sunny and not too cold.
The main purpose of this workday was to clear back grass and weeds that have started to creep across the path, in some places up to a foot or more each side. Not only does this reduce the width of a very popular route, but will also dramatically reduce the life of the tarmacked surface once roots get a foothold. As you can see from the pictures below, with a lot of hard work we managed to make quite a difference. Unfortunately we didn't finish the last stretch just before Cryfield Grange Road, so we agreed that I would organise another workday in February to finish the job.
Huge thanks to Ross M, John W, Alison and Mick T, George R, David B, Clive T, Mike T, Nick and Niamh H for their hard work.
Some pictures from the workday below...

LIAS LINE WORKDAY - SATURDAY 23 AUGUST - PICTURES
Please find below a selection of before and after pictures from the Lias Line workday back in August. Sorry that it has taken so long to get these pictures out but better late than never. May I repeat grateful thanks to everyone who came along for this day. It was a good day and we got the route in really good shape. Ten of us turned up and everyone put in a good shift, so big thanks to you! I'm glad to report that i've ridden this route more recently and it's still looking good! More workday plans will be following soon!
Looking overgrown!
Happy Workers!
Re-widened path

Kenilworth Cycleways: Support urgently needed
Hi all,
further to previous emails, the new Kenilworth Cycleways group needs some additional supporters to support a joint Sustrans/Kenilworth Cycleways stall at the Lions Show in Kenilworth (8th June: 12-5pm) and also to help support some rides we're organising. (our first family ride took place on the kenilworth greenway on sunday, and was a great success with 18 riders and perfect weather!).
PLease let me know as soon as you can if you'd like to get involved in Kenilworth Cycleways group and/or help out at the stall on the 8th June and/or some of the following rides (details of the rides to follow, for now i'm just getting takers for the dates.
Tuesday 18th June - evening ride (6:30 - 8:30)
Sunday 23rd June (10:30 - 1:00pm)
Saturday 6th July (10:30 - 1:00pm)
Tuesday 16th July - evening ride (6:30 - 8:30)
Sunday 28th July (2:00 - 4:00pm) would be good to see if afternoon ride might be more popular?
Kind regards,
Paul
